On Saturday in Rome, 300 revelers took to the streets for the 3rd annual world pillow fight day. Innocent fun, right? Does anyone else think this is a terrible idea? I mean sure, on the surface - great idea. "It will be fun. We'll all jump around in the streets, laughing and whapping each other with fluffy pillows." But anyone who grew up with a brother like mine knows that some people take their pillow fighting seriously. My childhood memories consist of many a feather fight ending rather quickly, when my brother would pull out the pillow-of-doom. Basically a bowling ball in a pillow case. That he would wield like a medieval mace, destroying everything in his path. A lamp. Drywall. My head. I don't even know how he slept on that pillow. It had to be so uncomfortable. But I'm sure he rested soundly knowing that if 400 ninjas attacked in the middle of the night, he was only milliseconds from unleashing an atomic bomb of pillow power. Next year, I'm sending Chris to Rome for what is sure to be the 4th and final world pillow fight day. May God have mercy on those poor Roman's souls.
